Client Policies & Professional Standards

At Eastern Harmony Massage, my goal is to provide a safe, peaceful, respectful, and professional environment where you can relax and receive therapeutic massage care.

By scheduling an appointment, you agree to the following policies.

1. Professional Massage & Boundaries

Eastern Harmony Massage provides professional, therapeutic massage only. All massage sessions are strictly non-sexual.

Sexual comments, sexual requests, sexual behavior, inappropriate touching, or any other conduct that violates professional boundaries is not acceptable.

If inappropriate behavior occurs, the session will be terminated immediately and the client will be required to leave. The full session fee remains due.

I reserve the right to refuse service or discontinue a professional relationship when appropriate.

2. Draping & Privacy

Professional draping is used during massage. Only the area of the body being worked on will be uncovered, while the client’s privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.

Clients may ask questions or request adjustments to positioning, draping, pressure, or techniques at any time.

3. Consent & Communication

Your comfort and consent are important.

Before and during your session, please communicate any concerns regarding:

  • Pressure
  • Temperature
  • Positioning
  • Areas you do or do not want addressed
  • Pain or discomfort
  • Music or conversation
  • Any other aspect of your treatment

You may ask to stop or modify any technique at any time.

4. Health & Intake Information

Clients are expected to provide accurate and complete information regarding their health, injuries, surgeries, medications, and other information relevant to their massage session.

Please inform me of any changes in your health before your appointment.

Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. When appropriate, you may be advised to consult your physician or another qualified healthcare professional.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling

Please notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.

No-shows may be charged a fee or may be required to provide payment before scheduling another appointment.

I understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen, and each situation will be considered reasonably.

6. Late Arrivals

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.

If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened so that the next client’s appointment can begin on time.

If you are significantly late, I may need to consider the appointment a cancellation or no-show.

7. Illness

For the health and comfort of everyone, please reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or another condition that may make receiving massage inappropriate.

If you are unsure whether massage is appropriate because of a health condition, please consult your healthcare provider.

8. Hygiene & Cleanliness

Cleanliness and hygiene are important parts of a professional massage environment.

Fresh linens are used for each client, and the massage area and equipment are cleaned regularly.

Clients are also expected to maintain reasonable personal hygiene so that the massage experience remains comfortable for both client and therapist.

9. Intoxication & Impairment

For safety reasons, massage will not be provided to anyone who appears significantly impaired by alcohol, recreational drugs, or another substance that affects their ability to provide informed consent or safely participate in the session.

The appointment may be terminated or refused, and applicable cancellation or no-show fees may apply.

10. Respectful Conduct

Clients are expected to treat the therapist with courtesy and respect.

Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

I reserve the right to end a session immediately if I feel unsafe or if professional boundaries are being violated.

11. Scope of Practice

Massage therapy is provided within the therapist’s professional education, training, licensing, and scope of practice.

Massage therapy does not include diagnosing medical conditions, prescribing medication, or providing medical treatment outside the scope of massage therapy.

12. Privacy & Confidentiality

Client information and information shared during the professional relationship will be treated respectfully and kept confidential, subject to applicable laws and professional requirements.

13. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

Eastern Harmony Massage reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service when necessary to protect the safety, health, comfort, or professional boundaries of the client or therapist.

A client may also choose to stop a session at any time.

14. Booking Agreement

By scheduling an appointment with Eastern Harmony Massage, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Client Policies & Professional Standards.

Thank you for respecting the professional nature of massage therapy and helping create a safe and relaxing environment for everyone.
